Flamborough to Peschiera del Garda Italy

All packed up and ready for our trip to Italy. We left Flamborough 23rd March and were looking forward to our new adventure working in Italy. Our first stop was Hull and onto the ferry for the over night trip to Rotterdam.

Our caravan and landrover were safely on board the ferry and we watched the last few trucks boarding.

The port at Hull looked very pretty with all the lights in the distance.

Our crossing to Rotterdam went well, we had two good meals on board, dinner and breakfast, and were finally travelling along the main roads in Holland by mid-morning. The weather wasn't brilliant, a bit cloudy and misty but we were fine on the motorways and soon drove into Germany.

We headed for Coblenz to a campsite called Wolfsmuhle. We got hopelessly lost because we listened to 'her' on the satnav, at one point we were at a dead end and another time we had to do a u-turn in a very narrow street. Somehow Rob coped with it all and we eventually found the right road or narrow lane as it turned out to  be, then we had to wait for a train to pass before we could enter the campsite.
By this time, it was pouring with rain so just pitched the tent as best we could only to discover that the electricity wouldn't stay on, so out came the whistling kettle and we didn't bother putting the hot water on either.

The next morning we set off for a campsite near Stuttgart, it was still raining and although we went through some different scenery it wasn't worth taking any photos. We once again had a problem with finding the campsite, this time because there was a closed road and we had to follow a detour. However, we eventually found Erbenwald Campsite near the Black forest and decided that we should stay here for a couple of nights.

It did eventually stop raining and we even had some blue sky which was nice.

This was a gift we received from the camp manager on Easter Sunday

Some photos of the village near the campsite.

Our next part of the journey was into Austria and once again we saw some lovely scenery with the Alps all covered in snow,

Our next campsite called Seehof was easy to find and not very far off the motorway. It was very sheltered with the mountains all around and very pretty, so we decided to stay there for 2 days as well.

This was the view from behind our caravan, so peaceful and pretty.

After a days rest, we set off for the last part of the journey to Italy, we had no problems following the satnav and were soon on the motorway travelling through some lovely scenery.

One of the few ski slopes we saw right next to the motorway.

A short stop in the mountains at a services where there was a church on the hillside seeming to be in the middle of nowhere.

We finally arrived at our destination where we would be staying for the next week. Camping Bella Italia is on Lake Garda near Peschiera and this is where we had our training for the job we were going to be doing for the next 6 months.
The view from our caravan,

Although the weather was lovely while we were there it was very hazy every day so I couldn't get a very clear photo across the lake. On the other side in the distance were the Alps but they are not visible in these photos.

Once our training was over the next part of our journey began and we set off for Caorle.
